POTD

I have run out of pets! So I'm posting a bunch of prom photos I did. I really struggled with these, it rained on and off and it was pretty dark out because of it. I also had to deal with the paparazzi that my girlfriend brought with her. It was tough, because everyone was trying to get shots of them too. I did a wedding for my girlfriend and my rule was I will take the shot first so I want everyone looking at me, then I'll get out of the way and everyone else can get the shot. I should have applied the same rule here!

I have little PS skills so I rely heavily on actions. I'm looking for any cc you can give me on color, comp, etc. Hoping someone has a calibrated monitor. I know these are heavily saturated. Although now that they are loaded on the web (which I did use my web loading action) they look even worse! So give it to me, let me know what you like, if anything, don't like, too saturated? Whatever you can - I want to learn and if I don't get honest cc I'm not going to improve.
Does this one look green?

I have quite a few of these at different angles. But with it being dark and under the tree made it worse the color seems really off. This one totally spaced out now that it's on here. On my computer it's one of my favorites, I did use a saturation action on it.
A few more of my favorites (I like details). Do you like the color or the bw w/vignette? Do you like the angle of the third one better?

More paparazzi going on here. I didn't get one photo under this tree where they were both looking at me, but there were so many people at the school trying to get photos under the trees we didn't have a lot of time.

Well Mel, I must say that I really, really like the richness of the pink! But then again you must know that I'm ALL for color as opposed to BW kwim?

Shot 3 does look very green. Try a photo filter to counterbalance the effect.
Pics #4, 5, and the last one could use a bit more pop and contrast. They look a bit dull when compared to the rest.
The detail in the BW conversion (and the conversion itself) look good.

Overall it's a good job. You should be proud for these!
TFS!

i think you did a great job with these. i prefer the color one of the dress...the b & w just doesn't do it justice. and the other b & w is great! really brings out the detail.

My DD and I just looked at these and you certainly got some good shots here. I'm not one to give out stuff on the techy side. I do like the colored ones because the pink is so vibrant. I like the 2 shots of the dress details - great comp on those. Hair, too.

Funny, my favorite is the one of her hair. It actually reminds me of a bridal shot with the bride getting ready.

Some of these are right on the money with color and others are either a tad on the yellow or green side. you know...funny how the same group of pics can have differnt looks.

For the most part, I'm very fond of the saturation in these pics, especially #1 and wow, her dress is gorgeous as well as she, and he's cute too;) We always forget the guys...

They should be thrilled with these, much better than those boring, traditional prom pics at the actual prom, right?

Beautiful pictues. She has the most beautiful dress and her hair is gorgeous! The one you thought was green, maybe you could try removing color cast. I really like what you did with the black and white one :)

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to cc, I really appreciate it! I was a little disappointed with some of these. I struggled because it was so dark. I agree with Heather how they could all be so different with the coloring.

One thing I did forget to mention is that is Miss "K" from my previous blog posts! My how she cleans up LOL! Definitely has a great smile in these compared to her serious looks in the senior photos which made her look mad instead.
