POTD - SOOC

Per a few suggestions, I've edited my post and added Urban Acid action on all three.
This is a practice with my focus & exposure. I saw where a lady did her daughter's senior photos and one was her looking up through stairs so I wanted to see if I could do it. She moved a few times and covered one of her eyes with the slat but I got a few that were decent. These are SOOC except I resized for the web. I think I should have stood up a step so she was further away. What do you think? Any CC is greatly appreciated! Urban Acid action

Go Colts!

My girlfriend and I decided to try and do the girls cheer pictures this year. I have never really liked that football stadium scene in the background. I never used my marina white vinyl for a backdrop before and I definitely made mistakes with that. I ended up with a lot of blue tinted background. I had to dodge these to fix them. I have a high-key action that works well but I don't like what it does to the girls' faces and I have no idea how to mask so I couldn't use that.

I would love to know how to get a high key effect and get the skin tones correct too! Any tips on this is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to cc as well.

POTD - 9/6/07

Today the kids went back to school. "S" was so excited to go back and see all her friends! Yah, she's not excited about school work. I mean come on we don't go to school to learn we go to socialize! She is definitely a social butterfly and I think for the past 4 years that's what every teacher has said to me. This year she's the big dog of the school . . . a 4th grader!

She was so excited that she could not sleep the night before. It was 10:30 p.m. and she still hadn't fallen asleep. Then she got up at 5:55 a.m.! She basically sat around 45 minutes waiting for the bus. I'm trying to get a few shots of her and she couldn't even sit still long enough. I had to document this, this is the first year she went to school on the first day dressed so casual. She is such a girly girl. When my boss asked what the outfit was the only thing I could come up with was Tomboyish LOL! So here's the few I got and the last one walking to the bus is blurry but I still really like it!

I used Jessica Bell's Warm It Up action on these. What do you think?
Thanks for looking and thanks to everyone who commented on my last few posts! I've been so busy lately and haven't had a chance to thank anyone or really look at others.

POTD - 9/2/07

We ventured out again so I could work on my class. Much to our surprise we went to the same hay field as my last post and it is now hay bales. So "S" decided she wasn't getting out because "there was no sense" as she put it. I got out anyway to work on a part of my class with regard to composition. So I'm satisfied with what I got and I turn around and there she is out by one of the hay bales with a red, white and blue umbrella LOL! I'm watching her and as I do I start wondering what she's thinking about. She's standing there so contently, singing to herself or something. I was actually intrigued and started to take a bunch of shots. I don't know what it is about these but I love them. It has to be the umbrella that just does not belong in the scene so bright and patriotic. So when she realizes I'm taking pictures of her she started to laugh because I was laughing. I asked why she had the umbrella and she said it's for the sun! Must be she thinks she a southern belle out in the day's heat :)
So do you like these? If not it's ok, but please tell me why you don't. I do like them and can't really explain why. So as usual looking for any cc you want to offer, the only way to learn baby!
So Jess Bell was looking for someone with PS6 to try out her actions and what do you know I have it! So I am the lucky PS6 user who got to try them out for her! So I ran a few on some of these.
